I am proud to announce that at the beginning of January 2008 the Dutch department of IATA (IATA Netherlands BV), where I work, has launched IATA's first consumer-oriented Internet project called IATA Travel Centre. This website represents an interface to Timatic, IATA's global travel information system used by huge amount of travel agencies, airlines, etc. across the globe. It was built with the latest technologies in mind.
Since September 2007 I have been working for the Dutch department of IATA (IATA Netherlands BV). In fact it is a quite profitable and dynamic department comparing to many other departments of IATA which just represent the interests of aviation industry. This one is a full-time project-oriented (software/hardware) department. Though, like many other big companies (not software houses), it's very slow with upgrading to the latest software available on the market, having an outstanding paper bureaucracy. But I will see what I can do...
I don't think this blog has already past my UAT but at least it got its start after a long thinking whether we need a blog. So viva la blog!
